Happy New Year everyone and welcome back to my blog! I hope you all are in the best of health, especially dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic that has affected us on so many levels. 2020 is finally over. The sad thing is that there are many people out there who feel that their luck will substantially increased because it’s a new year. In all honesty, I never truly believed in luck; however, I strongly believe in karma and fortune. If you put positive energy out in the world, be respectful and empathetic towards people as much as possible, eventually, that energy will find it’s way back to in in some shape or form.

“Purpose crosses disciplines. Purpose is an essential element of you. It is the reason you are on the planet at this particular time in history.” — Chadwick Boseman (Nov. 29, 1976 – Aug. 28, 2020)
I know it’s been asked countless times already, but hasn’t the year 2020 been something else? I’m putting it very modestly. The passing of Los Angeles Lakers great, Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna and the other seven passengers who died in the helicopter crash. The killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and Tony McDade. I definitely can’t fail to mention the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic that continues to wreak havoc on the world. Now it’s Chadwick Boseman, who starred as King T’Challa in Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther,” died at the age of 43 following a four-year battle with colon cancer.

Andre Ward: The Perseverance, Resiliency and Cerebral Ringmanship of Boxing’s Silent Warrior
After watching last weekend’s much-anticipated boxing match between Sergei Kovalev and Andre Ward held in Las Vegas at the T-Mobile Arena, in which Ward earned a victory in a hard-fought, courageous effort, my immediate response was, “now that’s how you respond!” This fight resonated with me as a perfect example of how you persevere under difficult situations. It is your reaction to adversity that often determines one’s own success. (Photo Credit: Anthony Geathers)

Happy First Day of Fall good people! The chaotic times of summer and rapid growth is usually a reflection of lots of changes – maybe a new marriage, a new job, a new place of residence or the start of a new business venture. Whatever the case may be, I hope that all of my family, friends and people within my network, have experienced much-needed gains and far less loss as we start the new season.Fall is a time for harvesting… perhaps, signifying a greater required focus and direction in your life. It might be time for you to start a new exercise regimen, pick up that new book you’ve been procrastinating on reading or ignite that business idea you’ve been yearning to share with the rest of the world.

Perhaps this photo is a tad morbid due to it’s visual nature, which is paired with my intention to assert the notion that our greatest ideas goes to our graves with us. In past years, I’ve been guilty of being an “idea hoarder;” what I mean by that is from time to time, I’ve conjured up numerous creative ideas–in which I failed to act upon due to a combination of procrastination, work schedules, relationships, fear of criticism and quite often for some of us, life tends to knocks us off our feet–at least momentarily. One day I just decided that I wasn’t going to keep my ideas on the shelf anymore and that I would do everything in power to share my creativity with the world.
The following is one of my favorite quotes made by motivational speaker and author, Les Brown. I constantly keep this quote in the back of mind to help keep me motivated, especially when my goals are not reached as quickly as expected:
