Watch the Trailer to New Animated movie, ‘Bilal: A New Breed of Hero’ Inspired By True Events.

For now, I won’t get into the politics on why this animated film wasn’t more heavily promoted, but the trailer to this movie looks fantastic! The first fully Middle Eastern-funded and produced CGI-animation film, Bilal is inspired by the life of Hazrat Bilal bin Rabah, the Ethiopian slave and companion of the Prophet Muhammad “Peace Be Upon Him” (PBUH), whose valor was considered nothing short of legendary.

The film tells story of an authentic hero who has earned his place in time and history. It follows a young boy with dreams of becoming a great warrior who along with his sister is abducted and taken to a land far away from home. Catapulted into a world where greed and injustice runs rampant, Bilal searches for the courage to allow his voice to be heard, while showing the resolve to make a change for equality.

Personally, I haven’t seen or heard about any film that accurately depicted any major Islamic historical events, but this animated film about the life of Hazrat Bilal bin Rabah certainly looks insightful and noteworthy.  I think the biggest challenge for the film is that it is undeniably a religion-based movie; however, how much of it’s religious aspects will be toned down to appeal to a broader audience outside of the Middle East, while making film-goers aware of it’s existence.

The orignal storyline is by Ayman Jammal and the screen play is by Alex Kronemer, Michael Wolfe, Yassin Kamel and Khurram H. Alavi.  The voice action of the hero is done by Jacob Latimore and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje.  The film is scheduled to premiere in the United States on February 2nd.

A new American trailer was released for the film this week.  Check it out below and share your thoughts!

Film Review: Marvel’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ Was Pure Sci-Fi Bliss

What’s up guys?  Ralph a.k.a. the “Perennial Aesthete” is here.  It’s been awhile, but I hope you’re all in the best of health and happiness.  Speaking of being happy, to describe Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, the sequel to Marvel’s 2014 swash-buckling science-fiction adventure, I’d have to say it was pure euphoric bliss.  It brought back memories from my childhood when I used to sit in my room drawing comic book characters and reading my favorite comics such as Iron Man, the Avengers, Spider-Man and the Mighty Thor. ‘Logan’ Review: Hugh Jackman’s Final Wolverine Movie Comes To a Brutal, Beautiful and Somber Ending

Hands down, this is the best X-Men or X-men related film that has been made to date and unquestionably, the Wolverine movie, we’ve all been waiting for.  Feeling more like a western rather than a comic book adaptation, film director James Mangold (The Wolverine3:10 To Yuma, Copland), brings us a visceral, violent, emotional and arguably, the most ambitious one since Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy.
